From blank to finished piece

The process is part of the art.

Careful stock selection, glue-ups, segmented assemblies, shaping, balancing, sanding, and finishing all contribute to the final object. Many builds unfold over multiple stages, which is why process images and video matter just as much as the final reveal.

Material selection: domestic and exotic hardwoods are chosen for grain contrast, color, and structural balance.
Glue-up and staging: blanks are stacked, clamped, and refined before the lathe work begins.
Turning and shaping: the form emerges slowly, with proportions refined as the grain is revealed.
Final finish: sanding, polish, and final styling turn the piece into something ready for a room, not just a shop bench.
