About Woody Turns

A small studio focused on one-of-a-kind woodturned work with an emphasis on handcrafted wood bowls, turned wood lamps, sculptural hardwood decor, and patient room-ready craftsmanship.

Studio Story

Built around material, proportion, and repeatable care.

Woody Turns began with the satisfaction of shaping raw wood into something both useful and visually strong. That same impulse still drives the studio today across handcrafted wood bowls, turned wood lamps, pedestal centerpiece bowls, cigar ashtrays, and other hardwood pieces made one at a time.

Some pieces are quiet and architectural. Others lean into bold color contrast, segmented structures, or turned pedestal forms. The common thread is that they are all made one at a time, with enough flexibility for the final object to follow the wood rather than fight it.

What is made here

Lighting, centerpiece forms, reserve pieces, and custom commissions.

The current studio direction is organized into three main collections: the Reserve Collection for cigar pieces and smaller utility objects, the Pedestal Collection for elevated centerpieces and gallery forms, and Studio Lighting for turned table lamps and related work.

Alongside finished one-of-a-kind pieces, Woody Turns also accepts direct commission inquiries for custom dimensions, matching sets, and pieces designed for a specific room or purpose.
